FAQs

GENERAL INFORMATION
WHAT IS BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE?

Bucks County Playhouse is a historic, nationally recognized, non-profit professional theater. While we occasionally present visiting artists, the Playhouse is a producing theatre with costumes, props and all other production elements created specifically for our stage. Our four-show mainstage season generally begins in May and runs through the end of year.

AUDITIONS

Bucks County Playhouse casts its actors in accordance with the rules and regulations of Actors Equity, the Union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. Open audition notices are posted on the traditional casting websites.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

There is no dress code, unlike a night at the movies, going to the theater means you’re going to be seated in front of talented actors in person, so a level of respect for their craft and the venue is appropriate. Otherwise, wear whatever you are comfortable in. Some patrons like to come “dressed up” to the theatre, others prefer more comfortable attire.

PHOTOS, VIDEO AND RECORDING

Due to Actors Equity and copyright regulations, ANY kind of recording – audio or visual – is strictly prohibited, and cameras or recorders are subject to confiscation.
